Boomi's First Event
Boomi hosted its first ever event in Shanghai. We screened "Bag It," an award-winning documentary about how plastic is inevitably controlling our lives. This will hopefully be the first of a series of screenings events we would like to do every month.
March Market Madness
March was the first time Boomi started to attend markets. During this month, we attended the Jiashan Market and Eco & More's Rooftop Market @ WeWork. Check out a recap video of the event on YouTube.
First Workshop and Hackathon
Boomi conducted its very first social entrepreneurship workshop at UWC-Changshu China with a group of grade 11 students. Our workshop focused a lot on simple and feasible solutions students could initiate in their local communities. Please contact us if you would like us to conduct workshops at your schools.
Launch of Wild Ginger and Lavandula
After releasing our first Boomi Box in December, Boomi expanded its Shampoo Bars line to two other scents, Wild Ginger and Lavandula.
Launch of Boomi Box 1.0 "Back to Basics"
The Boomi Box 1.0 "Back to Basics" was the first box we launched. Starter kits are at the core of our business as we believe these are the easiest way to start your journey towards a zero-waste lifestyle.

Boomi's Official Website Launch
This was the day Boomi official launched its website with our first product, the Moso Bamboo Toothbrush. Since then, we have grown so much from all the support we have received from everyone in Shanghai.

I love my boomi toothbrush and shampoo! The toothbrush is comfortable to hold + really gentle on my gums. The shampoo is a total winner after trying multiple brands for so long, my hair is stronger and voluminous and I only wash every 3-4 days

I love Boomi toothbrushes, they bring a touch of elegance in my bathroom while being good for the planet: the perfect combo

What I like about Boomi is their focus on education. They are creating a whole experience that teaches how to be sustainable in the city. I love their film screenings and seeing them at markets, promoting a zero-waste lifestyle.
Super love the shampoo bar. At first I was bit skeptical about shampoo bar, but I love it now. It's super easy to use, gentle to my hair and smells so nice too!
Jiao Tong University Student
I've followed Boomi's development since it first launched. It is amazing what Emmanuel and Miguel have done, and their products really do make living sustainably easy. All I know is that I buy a box from Boomi, and a part of my life is more eco-friendly. 100% would recommend.

My boomi shampoo saved me in China! Not only is it eco-friendly and well-priced, but it’s also one of the rare shampoos sold in China that’s sulfate free! A sulfate free shampoo makes all hair treatments last longer and your hair feel rich and healthy. Their different perfumes are a huge plus too, Boomi shampoo is the bomb 💣

Boomi is a company with a sustainable mission. They provide high quality products, and try to make a difference one person at a time. I highly recommend their toothbrush for anyone who loves a soft bristle brush and wants to help the environment.
The Dreamers Behind Boomi
CEO & Co-Founder
Graduated from Colgate University, US in 2018. Emmanuel is an Indonesian with a mission to change the consuming habits of individuals in Asia. Before Boomi, he was never known as an eco-friendly individual. However, as Boomi grows, so does his passion for making a change, no matter how small.
Sales Director & Co-Founder
Graduated from NYU Shanghai in 2019. Miguel is the "Mother Theresa" of the team. He has long been an active voice for the sustainability community. His passion and drive to protect our earth is contagious and inspiring. If he sees you with any type of plastic, you best believe he will give you a good lecturing.
Julia will graduate from NYU Shanghai in 2021. She used to be a heavy plastic user until she started interning at Boomi. She adapted to a new sustainable lifestyle by changing her small harmful habits into impactful ones. Being part of Boomi was a wakeup call and taught her to be more considerate of our beautiful green Earth. Her goal is to inspire and encourage people to adjust to an ecological lifestyle.
